Thursday April 8th 2431 Capitol doctors announced that after many years of hard work and experimenting, they have finally perfected the new pain killer Morphling.It is a very powerful pain killer that will be used to relieve severe pain and suffering. The drug will be taken through means of injections. Capitol doctors in charge of Morphling production say it will be distributed for medical use by next week. The drug is said to have a couple of side effects but doctors are confident that this invention will greatly help the Capitol’s medical advancement and save lives. The drug will be one of the first official pain relievers in the Capitol.

The Morphling drug is created from a very rare plant found only in District 7. Doctors have visited 7 and taken many of the plants to be cultivated in the Capitol. “We are very pleased with our latest development at the med labs. I believe that Morphling will help many peoplewith their pain,” says Doctor Adil Flor. “It’s not perfect but what drug is? It serves for its purpose and if it is used correctly nothing will go wrong!” he continues regarding the side effects that have been rumoured to be that the drug is very addictive.

The drug will be distributed for medical use and it has not yet been released if it will be sold commercially. Limited amount of Morphling will be available for doctors and healers in the Districts. The price for Morphling has not yet been decided but doctors are hinting that it will be a very expensive drug.

“I am very pleased to hear this news! I love keeping up with trends and the various surgeries and tattoos I have received have been quite painful! They were completely worth it of course but I hope I will be able to take Morphling,” says shopkeeper Melicent Trolly. The citizen reaction to this news has been very positive until now. Everyone is giddy with anticipation for this drug to be made public.

The Capitol is a place of peace and prosperity with lots of entertainment with zero tolerance for pain and sorrow. Morphling will possibly create an even better atmosphere for Capitol citizens to live in. Citizens can sleep better at night knowing that if they are ever hurt, the Capitol will come up with a solution to keep them safe and happy.

Sunday April 4th 2431, the tribute interviews took place where Caesar Flickerman, the host of the Hunger Games, talked with each and every tribute about their strengths and history. The program was broadcasted live from the Capitol. The stylists had a chance to go crazy and make their tributes look as dazzling as possible for the audience and the sponsers. After the chariot parade took place, the Capitol has been dying to see what District 12 stylists would do next ever since Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, the tributes from the coal mining district, made their stunning debut aflame. Katniss Everdeen stole the show once more with her brilliant flaming dress and the fire trend has been rapidly growing throughout the Capitol.

“My partner Cinna and I spent a long time studying fire and flames. We were tired of the boring old coal mining costumes. What’s the chariot parade without a little fun! We wanted to make a statement, add a little color and excitement,” said Capitol stylist Portia who is in charge of tribute Peeta Mellark’s attire. The Capitol citizens’ reaction to the fire outfits was immediate and Portia’s statement was made. District 12 was not to be overlooked and the fashion bar for this year’s tributes was set very high.

Is it safe? This was the question on everyone’s mind as we watched Katniss Everdeen twirl around beside Caesar Flickerman. “Absolutely, it is perfectly safe synthetic fire. It took a while for Cinna and I to perfect,” Portia reassured us. Although Portia’s fire might be safe, countless citizens were injured while trying to imitate the fire look. The Capitol fire department has sure been busy these past few days while the hype over the game is still very high. “Everyone wants a bit of the girl on fire! This has been my favourite tribute look yet and I’ve been watching the games for a long time!” says local teacher, Lavisha Fry who recently got flame accent tattoos on her forehead.

“I had so much fun working for the games this year!” said Octavia, member of Katniss’s prep team. “Applying the fire makeup and making the flames perfect was quite challenging but now I am able to replicate it for myself so it paid off. I am always the center of attention at dinner parties,”

How long will this latest fad last? Trends don’t last long in the large fashion industry of the Capitol. Who will last longer, Katniss Everdeen or the flame that follows her?

Saturday April 10th 2431, the Hunger Games gamemakers announced that they were considering a never before seen rule change in this year’s games. After much speculation to this astonishing news it can now be confirmed that Head Gamemaker Seneca Crane will incorporate this new rule, to be announced in the arena, within the next couple days. However, what the rule change is has not yet been revealed.

Why now? After 74 years of the same game, why are the gamemakers deciding to add this new rule? “I’m sure everyone agrees with me when I say that this year’s Hunger Games have been very special indeed. The tributes have been showing lots of promise especially those from districts 11 and 12. Tributes from districts11 and 12 do not have many victors so this turn of events is highly unusual and exciting to watch! I think with their dynamics, this rule change was absolutely necessary and when you see it everyone will agree,” said the head gamemaker, Crane.

“I don’t even know what it is yet!” Claudius Templesmith, announcer of the games, when asked about the rule change. “I expect they’ll let me know when I have to announce it,” The new rule change is rumoured to be broadcasted live in the arena for the first time in two to three days. Polls have been set up on various gossip sites concerning what the rule change might be.

However, the news is getting mixed reviews from diehard fans of the Hunger Games. “I’m so excited! I simply cannot wait to find out what they could possibly have changed to make the games even more exciting than usual!” says Capitol hairdresser Pinkie Crowley. On the other hand, restaurant owner Styles Pork says he is not a fan of the news, “This is ridiculous! The games are tradition. You can’t change tradition. The whole excitement of the games comes from the lack of rules and letting wild district children free!”

How will the game change affect the tributes? Will it be in their favor? These questions and more are sure to be answered once the change is made to what is starting to look like the most exciting and unsual game the Capitol has ever seen.
